The Asics GT 1000 10 is a running trainer for runners with an active lifestyle. This is the 10th edition of the GT 1000 and is described by Asics as a lightweight everyday trainer with excellent cushioning. This style is for women and comes in a grey and pink body, with light blue and white highlights.

This 10th edition model has a newly designed upper, with an engineered mesh that adjusts to your foot’s natural shape. At the same time, this provides you with a comfortable midfoot hold.

In terms of supportive technology, this trainer provides you with cushioning for those off-road sessions. Because of the rearfoot gel, shocks are absorbed as you run. Moreover, this gel has been strategically placed for maximum comfort.

As well as this, the midsole has been carefully crafted in order to offer a softer feeling at foot-strike. Meanwhile, a section of it has been made with a firm sponge. This controls the inward rolling of the heel that occurs when the foot touches down at the end of a step. Strides will become noticeably smoother.

Inside this model, an Ortholite insole can be found. This is highly breathable material that can withstand moisture and provide long-term cushioning. It is also removable and machine washable.

Following a more sustainable design approach, this trainer also uses fewer resources to colour the sockliner.

Due to the specific features that have been integrated, it is also able to help with a few foot conditions. These include collapsed arches and Plantar Fasciitis.

The Asics GT 1000 10 is also available for men and children.

Sole Unit Technology

• A mild detergent or a clothing-safe soap (unless they are made of Gore-Tex, which requires a special shoe cleaner). Alternatively, use baking soda and water mixed into a paste; or a 1:2 distilled vinegar and water mix.
• A soft scrub brush or a toothbrush.
• A sponge.
• Paper towels.
• A sink or a container of warm water.

1. Wash the different parts of your shoes separately. First, remove your shoelaces and insoles.

2. Fill a bucket or bowl with warm water and add 15-30ml of mild detergent.

3. With a dry paper towel, clean off any clinging mud, dirt, or debris.

4. Use a soft scrub brush or a toothbrush dipped in warm, soapy water to clean the outsole (bottom of the trainer) by hand. Rinse with a wet sponge or towels.

5. Now clean the upper of the trainer. This is the part of the shoe that wraps your foot, and how you clean it will depend on what it is made of. Fabric, mesh, or canvas: Use a wet, soapy sponge and scrub gently. These materials can handle handwashing, but don’t submerge your shoes in water. Suede, nubuck or leather: Be aware that soap and water can damage or discolour these materials. Use only cleaning products made specifically for suede, nubuck, or leather and follow the product instructions.

6. Clean your insoles with soapy water. Scrub the surface thoroughly with a toothbrush or scrub brush, then clean off the dirt and excess soap with a wet sponge. Don’t soak the insoles or you risk damaging the foam and its shape.

7. You can clean your shoelaces using soap and a scrub brush under running water.

8. Once all the parts of your shoes have been cleaned, let them air dry with paper towels stuffed inside. This will help absorb moisture and maintain the shape of your shoes as they dry.

9. Once your shoes have dried, you can sprinkle baking soda inside them to absorb any odours or residual moisture.

• Do not wash your running shoes in the washing machine. Soaking your shoes in water can damage the fabric and adhesives!

• Do not use bleach or household cleaning supplies to clean your shoes. Stick to gentle, clothing-safe options.

• Do not dry your running shoes in the dryer, near a radiator or in direct sunlight. Heat can cause your shoes to lose their shape or come apart. Air-drying is best.
